[Qutecsound-users] Failed to build CsoundQt with Qt Creator

MF
Hi,

I am trying to build CsoundQt based on the instruction on the wiki:

This is what I did:

1. import project with git clone,
2. use https://github.com/CsoundQt/CsoundQt.git as my repository
3. open qcs-macx.pro in Qt Creator
4. Build project qcs-macx

But then I get this error message:
:-1: error: A valid Csound API include directory was not found.

Looks like I have to specify CSOUND_API_INCLUDE_DIR in the config.pri. How can I fix this?

I am on Mac OS 10.11

Thanks!
MF

Re: [Qutecsound-users] Failed to build CsoundQt with Qt Creator

Tarmo Johannes

Hi,

There is a misundertanding, maybe it should be stated more clearly.

The wiki page says "Install Csound from the latest OSX installer . If you use your own build, you will have to adjust the paths in qcs-macx.pro." It was meant, if you use your own build of CSOUND.

The main projext file that you need to open , is qcs.pro, qcs-macx.pro is a helping set of various parameters. Usually if you import from Gihub, it should opeb qcs.pro automatically but it is good to have a line about in wik. Thanks! Good it came up.

Can you now try to open qcs.pro (or perhaps there is another project open with that name?) and see if it changes anything.

Please let know if there are any problems!

Re: [Qutecsound-users] Failed to build CsoundQt with Qt Creator

Mei-Fang Liau
Hi Tarmo,

Thanks for the reply. Build qcs.pro works!

I agree that the wiki could be more specific about what project to open. Actually when I imported from Github, it automatically opened qcs-haiku.

Also, in the wiki it's not clear that it's necessary to disable shadow build (this other wiki is easier to follow and has most of the important stuff covered though) . I wasn't able to build it without disabling it.

Thanks for the great work!

Glad to hear!

Would you mind editing the wiki to your experience so that is more clear for everyone? (you just need to have a github account and sign in, I guess) - it is a community project :)

I will add the disableing shadow build hint to BUILDING.md.

Thanks!
